Soap & Glory Clear Here T-Zone Oil-Control Daily Moisture Lotion (Review)

I felt in love with Soap & Glory Rub Your Nose in it just a few months ago, so i decided to give the moisturizer a try. It said T-Zone Oil-Control Daily Moisture Lotion, so it really attracted me as i have oily t-zone.

Product claim:

What it is:
A daily facial moisture lotion for oily and combination skin types.

What it is formulated to do:
Ideal for oily skin, this moisturizer helps achieve smooth, shine-free skin. Especially for young complexions prone to spots and blemishes, it controls oil, fights acne-causing bacteria, and reduces pore clogging to leave skin beautifully smooth and matte.

-Poreshrink-3: A slow-release skin perfector with a pore-refining salicylic acid blend that helps regenerate and smooth the skin without irritation.
-Blot-A-Lot Complex: This mattifying astringent extract of mushroom helps tighten and firm pores.
-An Activating Complex with Ginseng Extract: Helps boost energy and moisture levels.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
Suggested Usage:
-Each morning and evening, cleanse well and rinse, then smooth a generous layer of Clear Here onto your face as well as along and under your jaw line.

 Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Butylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, C12-13 Alkyl Lactate, Squalane, Nylon-12, Sodium Polyacrylate, Fomes Officinalis (Mushroom) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Sodium Hydroxide, Acacia Senegal Gum, Salicylic Acid, Pyridoxine HCl, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Parfum (Fragrance), Zinc PCA, Buteth-3, Laminaria Saccharina Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Sodium Benzotriazolyl Butylphenol Sulfonate, Limonene, Gynostemma Pentaphyllum Extract, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Tributyl Citrate, Amyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, CI 42090 (Blue 1).

Price: RM49 (Sephora) for 1.69oz

Texture: smooth gel, easily absorb to the skin.  Wait 30 seconds before applying make up.  It will dry off as matte finish.

Smell: Like strong tea-tree oil.  Quite overwhelming for me.

Did it work?
  • It works well as a mattifying base for make up. (wait 30 seconds for that)
  • It controls shine, giving you non-oily feeling
  • Moisturizing.  Quickly absorbs into the skin.
Verdict:  For me, it is too strong. It irritates my skin, so few red spots appear after 1 week using it. I thought it was my hormone, but after i stopped using it, the red spots disappeared magically within 2 days.  Too bad, i really like the matte finish that it gave.  Price wise, it's a bit too expensive for a daily moisturizer (it's only 1.69oz).  I'll stick with my Za true white emulsion!

The smell is quite strong and i don't like that. I hate the bumpy red spots.  My skin felt so rough and it's a big NO! As for a make up base, it works well.  If you have non-sensitive skin, maybe it will work for you. But i won't use it ever again! So who want this free moisturizer? Feel bad to throw it just like that! LOL..

  2. If someone wants to buy it, why not? It's been sitting on my dressing table for quite sometime now. I only used few drops.
