So what you need to do:
1) Drink a lot of water! When your body is well-hydrated, it will appear through you lips and skin! Drink at least 2.5L of water. Malaysia is freaking hot, it will constantly dehydrate your body. So drink up! Your body, you skin and your lips will thank you.
2) Apply some good lip balm. Revive the chapped lips. The primary purpose of lip balm is to provide an occlusive layer on the lip surface to seal moisture in lips and protect them from external exposure. Dry air, cold temperatures, and wind all have a drying effect on skin by drawing moisture away from the body. Lips are particularly vulnerable because the skin is so thin, and thus they are often the first to present signs of dryness. There are plenty types of lip balms these days. Stick, pot, clear, color-tinted, shimmery, buttery, glossy. Pick one. or two. or more.
3) Scrub it! Scrub the dead skin away at least 3 times per week. The simplest way to do this is to use a toothbrush. How? First, moisten up your lips with luke warm water. Brush your lips gently in circular motion. Rinse. So simple right. Or you can use sugar and honey to make a scrub. Take 1 teaspoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix them together. Rub it on your lips. Both ways resulting in healthy looking and soft lips. The second method however will give you softer and moisturized lips. Don't forget to apply some lip balm after scrubbing!
4) Choose lipstick with moisturizing formulas. Some lipsticks formulas are really drying! The color may look good on you but few hours later, you may feel your lips are dry and chapped. And then your lips starts to peel and look horrible. You wouldn't want that to happen, would you? Nowadays, there are many brands with moisturizing properties. For example: Maybelline Watershine Lipsticks and Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick. Go for tinted lip balm for sheer color. Revlon also produce ColorBurst lipbutter, which is a tinted balm with nice nearly opaque color.
So, that's it for a healthy lips. Did i mention healthy lips also mean kissable lips? :) xoxo
Proper skin care might appear very complicated and involved, but if you know what you are doing, it can really be beneficial to the health of your skin
